WHAT'S NEW:

John Montgomery STAFF: Fisheries Biologist John Montgomery exemplifies attention to detail and process in his multi-project data gathering efforts in California's Central Valley. Learn more about this talented team member in our Featured Staff Q&A session.

GIS SERVICE: Geographic Information Systems, or GIS, is a powerful tool Cramer Fish Sciences uses to answer fish population questions and to display the result in a visual and intuitive way. GIS can be used to find locations of features, recognize patterns, map quantities and densities, or visualize change over time.

Caswell Rotary Screw Trap, Juvenile Monitoring PROJECT: Cramer Fish Sciences implemented a juvenile salmonid out-migration monitoring program at Caswell Memorial State Park on the lower Stanislaus River. Operations by CFS have occurred annually at this site to estimate abundance of out-migrating juvenile Chinook salmon and steelhead/rainbow trout in order to understand the impacts of instream flow schedules and management actions.
